Venice Underwater City: Day

With impending, ongoing global warming, Venice is in danger of being lost to the sea and becoming an underwater city. The images I used are all of reflections in the water during the day, and of the buildings and bridges taken in Venice. A statement about global warming and the rising water table is the result. As an artist most of my life, I’ve photographed millions of images. Now, using these textural, somewhat abstract photographs, I create art with nature as my paintbrush. My hope is that words and art may do their part to wake people up to what is happening to our fragile earth’s ecosystems. In the dystopian future, not so far away, we will have to tour Venice by snorkel.
